We flew to Punta Arenas in the extreme South of Chile, rented a truck, and drove it to Santiago. The journey took us on a 5000 kilometres through the Patagonian steppe, across the Andes mountains (four times), past glaciers and through the Argentine lake district.

Patagonia, the southern-most tip of Chile and Argentina is one of the most beautiful parts of the world – in fact we started our journey close to Torres del Paine National Park, regularly voted the most beautiful national park in the world.
